Notes and Tips
- This pattern is written using US crochet terms
- The number in (parentheses) at the end of each row is the stitch count after finishing that row
- Italicized notes tell you what to change to adjust the size
- The chain 2 at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a double crochet
- The slip stitch at the end of each round goes into the first stitch of that round
- The first stitch of every new round goes into the same stitch we slip stitched to in the previous round
Crochet Drawstring Pouch Pattern
Pouch
Foundation: With the yarn color for your pouch, make a slipknot, ch15
Note: Do fewer chains for a less wide pouch or more chains for a wider pouch. Make sure the number of chains is a multiple of 4, plus 3.
Round 1: dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across, rotate foundation ch to work along the underside, dc in each ch across, sl st (26)

Rounds 2-8: ch2, dc around, sl st (26)
Note: Do fewer rounds for a shorter pouch or more rounds for a longer pouch.

Round 9: ch2, *rep[dc, ch1, sk1] 6 times, dc, rep from *, sl st (14 dc and 12 ch-sp)

Round 10: ch2, dc in each st and ch-sp around, sl st (26)
Fasten off and weave in your loose ends.

Drawstrings
With the yarn color for your strings, make a slipknot, ch40, fasten off
Note: Do fewer chains for shorter drawstrings or more chains for longer drawstrings. Make sure the strings are at least double the width of the pouch.
Repeat for a second string.

Working with the 5 double crochets and 6 chain spaces on one side of the pouch, go under and over the stitches with your hook. Take one of your strings and pull it through. Flip the pouch over and go under and over the stitches on this side of the pouch with your hook. Pull the other end of the string through and make sure it’s even, with half of it on either side of the pouch.

Repeat with your other string, starting from the opposite side. Make sure to view the tutorial if this part is unclear for you.

Trim the tails short.

Finished Crochet Drawstring Pouch
And your crochet drawstring pouch is finished! Pull on the strings on both ends to cinch the top closed.
