Notes and Tips

  • This pattern is written using US crochet terms
  • The number in (parentheses) at the end of each row is the stitch count after finishing that row
  • Italicized notes tell you what to change to adjust the size
  • The chain 2 at the beginning of each round does NOT count as a double crochet
  • The slip stitch at the end of each round in the base goes into the first stitch of that round
  • The first stitch of every new round in the base goes into the same stitch we slip stitched to in the previous round

How to Crochet a Flower (Popcorn Stitch)

  1. Do 5 double crochets into the same space.
  2. Remove your hook from the loop (you can hold it on your finger to keep it from unraveling).
  3. Insert your hook into the first double crochet made.
  4. Place the loop back on your hook and tighten it.
  5. Pull through the stitch.

Turning the Coaster into a Bouquet

To make it into a bouquet, cut a 30cm (12″) string in the flower color yarn. Fold the coaster in half with the right side out and roll the coaster around the magic ring.

Tie a knot and bow with the string to hold the bouquet in place.

Crochet Flower Basket Coaster Set
